Ah Ha Moment

(Students finish watching a 60 Minutes segment on Detroit recovering from bankruptcy)

Me:  "So, what do we think of the segment?  How do we save Detroit?"
(no response)
Me:  "Really?  All you guys want to do is talk and when I ask you a question no one wants to respond?"
(silence)
Student #1:  "You know what will fix Detroit?  Oprah."
Me:  "Oprah will fix Detroit?  How?"
Student #2:  "Yea.  She's worth over a billion dollars and she can send a few million to Detroit."
Student #3:  "Let's tweet Oprah and ask her to send money to Detroit."
(all students nod in agreement)
Me:  "Alright, if you can get Oprah to tweet you back about giving money to Detroit, I will give you extra credit."
Student #2:  "Ok, let's be serious about this now.  How much is Oprah worth?"
Me:  "Someone look it up on the Forbes website."
Student #3:  "I got it.  She's worth $2.9 Billion."
(silence)
Student #1:  "That's not enough.  But, it's a good start."
(silence)
Student #2:  "She's worth $2.9 Billion?  Wow."
(silence)
Student #3:  "Mrs. A, how much money do you think I'm worth?"
Me:  "You're worth a bag of Funyuns."
