Planning Suggestion

Student:  "Mrs. A, we should watch the movie, Pitch Perfect, during our unit on World War II."
Me:  "How does that have any relevance to the war's historical content?"
Student:  "How does it not?"
Me:  "Ok, if you can give me just one legitimate reason to watch the movie, I will consider it."
(student thinking for a few moments)
Student:  "I'VE GOT IT!!  They talk in British accents in the movie!!!  That is totally historical."
Me:  "No."
Student (in British accent):  "Ok, in the movie, they say things like, 'my name is Fat Amy'....."
(me staring at the student)
Student (in regular accent):  "There was an Amy alive during World War II.  I'm sure of it.  Some Amy that was important.  Maybe she was even fat.  Boom!  Relevant!...Don't worry, Mrs. A.  I have the movie.  You don't even have to rent it."
Me:  "Still no."
