(Student sitting by my desk after I wrapped up the hour and before the bell rings)

(The student has had my class for the entire year)

 

Student:  "Mrs. A, I wish I had you for World History so that I could learn all about World War I."

Me:  "Ummmm.  Do you mean US History?"

Student:  "No.  I said World History."

(silence)

Me:  "This is World History.  You are sitting, right now, in World History.  I am your teacher for World History."

(silence)

Student:  "Oh!  Wait.  What?  This is World History?"

Me:  "Yes."

Student:  "No wonder we have been learning about other countries."
