(Me explaining to the class that they will be completing a picture collage of WWII and placing it into their three-ring binders)
(I told them five time to place this assignment in their binders)
Student #1:  "Mrs. A, is this due today?"
Me:  "No...like I said 15 times, it's due at the end of this project on WWII."
Student #1:  "Ok...so, I put it in my three-ring binder?"
Me:  "Yes."
Student #1:  "Do I use the hole punch to punch the holes so I can put it in my binder?"
(silence)
Me:  "Nope, you need to use your fingernails."
(silence)
Student #1:  "I don't think that is going to work."
Student #2:  "She's joking."
Student #1:  "Are you sure?  I can never tell."
