Student:  "Mrs. A, I can't find Warren Harding in my book."
Me:  "Did you look in the index?"
Student (clearly frustrated):  "Yes!"
(silence)
(I grab the student's book)
Me:  "It's right here in the index."
(silence)
Student:  "Well, why would I look in the "H"s?  It should be under W for Warren."
Me:  "When people are listed, it is by their last name."
Student:  "Since when?"
