Me: "So, in the book, The Jungle, the author talks about how cows were processed into meat even though they may have been pregnant or had just given birth. That is highly illegal now and cannot only be poisonous, but is just plain disgusting."
(silence)
Student #1: "Yea, it's like in China. They poach tigers there. They eat them. It's crazy to think that some Asians consider the tiger penis to be magic."
(silence for a while)
