LBJ

Short answer question on a test about the Cold War:
Imagine you are Lyndon B. Johnson and you have just been sworn in as president after John F. Kennedy's assassination.  Write a journal entry describing your plan of action as the country's new president.

Student answer:
Dear Diary,
Today President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.  As Vice President, I have now taken the duty as the role of president.  Boy, am I ready to stomp out poverty, or what!  I also really hope that I can convince Congress to pass Medicare and Medicaid.  Besides the assassination, I have had a good day.  I had bacon and pancakes for Breakfast, and listened to The Yardbirds after lunch.  It was a beautiful day in Dallas.
Love,
Lyndon B. Johnson
