(Me giving notes on the French Revolution)
Me: "So King Louis and Marie Antoinette tried to flee to the Netherlands, but they couldn't get away. They were too fat from eating a bunch of cake and could not escape."
Student: "Why didn't they just hop in a plane?"
(silence)
Student: "What?! It's faster than running!"
